As experts in audio-visual technology and support services, Lewcon AV was recently engaged by a global energy company and one of the UK’s leading fit-out specialists to design and deliver world-class meeting solutions for a new flagship office in central London. This enterprise client was looking to upgrade their existing meeting space estate alongside the office relocation and wanted to create modern meeting environments that met the business needs of today and tomorrow.
Project Overview
The project objective involved bringing the latest hardware technology into the business to streamline employee interaction while providing a first-class platform for client engagement across various meeting environments ranging from huddle and focus rooms to large VC suites. Lewcon’s role was to assist in the design and deployment of unified communications and collaboration technology across the entire building, including 23 state-of-the-art meeting rooms designed for face-to-face and remote video conferencing, digital signage for breakout areas, and all hands areas.
Delivering expertise
With over 20 year’s experience delivering outstanding installation projects, the team at Lewcon engaged with the client as part of their consultation services. Once the project goals were identified and agreed upon, Lewcon’s in-house engineers proposed solutions for each space, utilising their extensive AV and VC partner network. Working with leading brands in the collaboration space, Lewcon offered solutions to make each room work effectively and efficiently.
Over Summer 2020, Lewcon started deploying 15 huddle spaces, all equipped with similar technology to deliver a seamless user experience. Each room utilises Samsung displays and Barco ClickShare devices for simple wireless sharing to the screen, while Logitech conference cameras provide high-quality video, engaging remote meeting participants.
“Our VC requirements were different across our departments and teams; we needed to ensure that we catered for everyone within the business, regardless of the VC platform they were used to using. We installed a mix of Cisco WebEx and Microsoft Teams rooms to ensure we enabled multiple use cases within our meeting spaces. Lewcon helped us navigate through the different technology platforms to design and implement the right types of environments for our employees.”
Productive meeting spaces
Within the large and medium conference meeting rooms, dual, large format Samsung displays installed on Chief brackets are coupled with Poly Teams collaboration bars and JBL ceiling speakers to deliver a superior unified communications environment. The high-quality audio and video bring teams together and enable the organisation to connect to clients and colleagues in a high-impact way, whether in-room or remotely. The cutting-edge video conferencing suite features the Cisco WebEx Room Panorama series, featuring 5K quad cameras with a 360-degree panoramic view with automatic speaker tracking, delivering an immersive video conferencing environment for modern boardrooms.
Every space features RoomWizard from Steelcase, reducing everyday ghost meeting rooms’ issues, enabling employees to find and reserve available spaces easily. The IT department manages all the technology via Crestron control systems, with breakout spaces, feature digital signage displays powered by AMX, delivering essential company messages. At the same time, sound masking eradicates any distancing background noise in these areas.
